Detailed frequency analysis of power supply rejection in Brokaw bandgap
نویسندگان
چکیده
A detailed frequency analysis of Power Supply Rejection (PSR) in Brokaw bandgap voltage reference is carried out. The knowledge of the frequency behavior in a voltage reference becomes mandatory to the designer especially in RF or digital environment where disturbs coming from supply lines becomes more evident. Precise and simple models, useful for pencil and paper analysis, are developed and a compensation technique for improving the circuit frequency performance is also discussed. Results are validated by comparing the carried-out models with the actual circuit by means of SPECTRE. VREF 0

Design of a Cmos Bandgap Reference with Lowtemperature Coefficient and High Power Supply Rejection Performance
A high precision temperature compensated CMOS bandgap reference is presented. The proposed circuit employs current-mode architecture that improves the temperature stability of the output reference voltage as well as the power supply rejection when compared to the conventional voltage-mode bandgap referenc. Using only first order compensation the new architecture can generate an output reference...
متن کاملA High Precision Bandgap Reference Used in Power Management ICs
A 2.5V high precision BiCMOS bandgap reference with supply voltage range of 6V to 18V was proposed and realized. It could be applied to lots of Power Management ICs (Intergrated Circuits) due the high voltage. By introducing a preregulated current source, the PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) of 103dB at low frequency and the line regulation of 26.7μV/V was achieved under 15V supply voltage a...
متن کاملA CMOS bandgap reference for differential signal processing - Solid-State Circuits, IEEE Journal of
A switched-capacitor fully differential bandgap reference is presented that employs a standard double-poly CMOS process. It generates a differential reference voltage of 6.2 V with a standard deviation of about 24 mV and a typical temperature stability of 15.2 ppm/”C over an extended temperature range from 40 to + 85°C. These performance results are obtained without using any trimming in mass p...
متن کاملA Detailed Analysis of Power-Supply Noise Attenuation in Bandgap Voltage References
This paper discusses the power-supply noise attenuation (PSNA) in the frequency domain of four kinds of bandgap voltage reference that represent the basis of typical voltage references. This performance parameter becomes a fundamental design criterion in high-frequency applications where, due to the reduction in the loop gain, spurious signals coming from the power supply cannot be adequately r...
متن کاملImproving Linear Regulator Power Supply Ripple Rejection (PSRR) and Output Noise
The PSRR of a linear regulator is determined by three factors: 1. The PSRR of the bandgap voltage reference, whose output ripple affects the output ripple of the linear regulator up to the roll-off frequency of the bandgap. 2. The open-loop gain of the feedback loop (AV), which is roughly equal to the open-loop gain of the error amplifier, up to the 0dB (unity gain) crossover frequency of the l...
